A single-vehicle accident near the Fairy Bridge yesterday afternoon left a driver needing hospital treatment.
The Mazda MX-5 had left the road and crashed into a large tree.
Fire crews were called to the scene around 4.15pm to help get the driver, who was unresponsive, out of the car.
Using hydraulic cutting equipment, they removed part of the steering wheel and slid the driver onto a board used to protect the spine.
The driver was then taken to hospital for a thorough check-up.
