Consultation on new police powers

You really can have a say in the future of police powers in the Isle of Man.

That's the message from Home Affairs Minister Juan Watterson, in the wake of the launch of a public consultation.

Feedback is being sought on the Criminal Justice, Police Powers and Other Amendments Bill.

Included in the 35-clause bill are proposed changes to laws governing search warrants, the seizure of property and the arrest of children.

Mr Watterson this consultation will be different to the last time public opinion was sought on a bill covering similar matters:
