A call for stronger policies to promote economic growth in the Island has won unanimous support in Tynwald.
Michael MHK Alf Cannan's motion in which he argued the Island needs thousands more residents to expand the economy, sparked a two hour debate.
He said work to reduce public spending and rebalance budgets was vital.
But in his view, not enough's being done to attract new wealth because clear targets for growth and investment have not been set.
Member of the Economic Development department Laurence Skelly said a dedicated team was doing all it could to exploit new business opportunities.
