Foxdale keep Gold Cup hopes alive

by isleofman.com 12th May 2012

Foxdale kept alive their hopes of qualifying for the Paul Henry Gold Cup with an impressive 7-1 romp on Saturday.

Third placed Onchan were the victims at Billy Goat Park as the westerners moved up to fifth place in JCK Division Two.

Doubles from Willie Woods and Stuart Morrison, plus one apiece from Gavin McLaughlin, Smith and Matty Venables, did the damage.

The result means Foxdale, Michael and Douglas Royal all remain in contention for the final qualifying spot.

The Isle of Man women’s team drew 2-2 at Morecambe on Saturday, in the first match under new manager Sam McDonald.

Kym Hicklin and Eleanor Gawne grabbed the goals for the Island.
