Liverpool Legend Thompson at Heartstrong Ball

by isleofman.com 11th May 2012

Liverpool legend Phil Thompson is the guest at the annual Craig's Heartstrong Ball at the Palace Hotel this evening.

Thompson won the European Cup three times while playing at Anfield as well as 7 league titles, 1 F.A. Cup, 2 League Cups, 2 UEFA Cups and 6 Charity Shields.

He served as Assistant Manager for many years and acted as caretaker boss for six months when Gerrard Houllier was ill.

Thompson is now a regular pundit on Soccer Saturday on Sky Sports.

The Charity was established following the death of Craig Lunt from a previously undiagnosed heart defect.

In the next few weeks, all 26 Manx Football Clubs and every high school will be presented with a defibrillator bought by the Foundation.
