Quality and Quantity at Manx National Rally

by isleofman.com 11th May 2012

90 cars, 100 miles of competitive motoring and 20 stages on closed roads - the Manx National Rally starts from Port Erin this evening at 7pm.

The entry is 20% up on last year's levels.

Defending Champion Melvyn Evans leads the quality list of crews away in a Suburu Impreza World Rally Car.

Also in a WRC vehicle - a Ford Focus - will be 2009 and 2010 winner Paul Bird.

Local interest begins at number 4 with co-driver Rob Fagg reading the pace notes for John Stone.

Also in the top ten are last year's runners-up Steven Quine and Richard Skinner, Nigel and Michaela Cannell, and Andrew Leece along with Graham Fargher.

Other stages tonight are Parville, Braaid and Marine Drive.

The rally will resume from the Grandstand tomorrow morning.
