Manx meat could return to Tesco soon

by isleofman.com 11th May 2012

It's hoped Manx meat will be back on the shelves at Tesco before too long.

The Douglas store stopped stocking it in February after an audit of the meat plant found it didn't meet Tesco's food manufacturing standards.

A team from the supermarket chain has now carried out a further inspection, and left with a more positive view, according to Isle of Man Meat's Chairman Graham Crowe.

Mr Crowe says that indicates significant progress has been made.

He says while supplies are not resuming immediately, both parties are working together to raise standards and are committed to ensuring quality Manx meat is available again in Tesco as soon as possible.
