MM&C - Mainstream Marketing & Communications - played a vital role in creating the new visual identity for the Department of Economic Development which was launched this week. The Douglas-based company was instrumental in the ‘Isle of Man. Where You Can’ core proposition which is at the heart of the Department’s unified marketing strategy to attract inward investment to the Island.
Craig Wolstencroft, Managing Director of MM&C, said:
“We’re delighted to have played such a major role in researching, developing and implementing the Department’s new marketing initiative for the Island. ‘Isle of Man. Where You Can’ is much more than just a slogan. It now forms part of a new marketing strategy that will underpin the Isle of Man’s economic development and which shows the total diversification of the Island’s economy. It’s now time for the public and private sectors to work together and make a real difference on how we market the Isle of Man.”
The new ‘Isle of Man. Where You Can’ positioning has been widely welcomed by the Island’s business community, including Gavin Smith, Chair of the Chartered Institute of Marketing Isle of Man, who commented:
“I like ‘Isle of Man. Where You Can’ not just for its simplicity but also for the strategic marketing that will run behind it and which will be delivered by some of the Island’s top professional marketers. To see a professional marketing strategy underpinning the Isle of Man’s economic development is an exceptional endorsement for all of the 100 plus local CIM members who work across all sectors and public, private and voluntary organisations.”
The Department of Economic Development launched ‘Isle of Man. Where You Can’ at the Claremont Hotel on May 9 and announced that the unified marketing approach will be supported by the www.whereyoucan.im website which will become the focal point for inward investment and for local businesses. ‘Isle of Man. Where You Can’ will also form part of an integrated range of marketing activities including a common set of factsheets, digital marketing activities, and a programme of attendance at relevant exhibitions.
DED Minister John Shimmin MHK said:
“The ‘Isle of Man. Where You Can’ approach will help determine how the Department’s activities and initiatives are perceived among our diverse range of clients and stakeholders who represent sectors as diverse as financial services through to space commerce through to high-tech manufacturing.”
