Fisherman rescued off south of Island

by isleofman.com 10th May 2012

A fisherman was rescued by Port St Mary lifeboat this afternoon (Thurs) after becoming lost in the fog.

The man who had been fishing off the south of the Island had dropped anchor on his 13 foot boat, but the strong tide had caused him to drift.

He'd lost sight of land altogether and become disorientated.

Port St Mary's inshore lifeboat was launched and he was located in Perwick Bay safe and well.

The lifeboat towed the fishing vessel back to harbour where they arrived at around 4pm
