It was a largely disappointing day for Mark Cavendish, Peter Kennaugh and the rest of Team Sky in the team time trial at the Giro d’Italia yesterday.
The team crossed the line in ninth place to set a time of 37 minutes and 34 seconds over the 33.2km course around Verona.
Cavendish led the team into the final metres, returning to the race after a bad crash on Monday.
The action from the first Grand Tour of the season continues with stage five later which looks likely to end in a bunch sprint.
