by isleofman.com 4th May 2012

The Stroke Association's series of roadshows for Action On Stroke Month began in the west of the Island yesterday.

The association is using Age Concern's CHAT Bus to raise awareness of the condition.

Its advisors can provide information, but also free blood pressure and pulse checks.

Paul Allinson, an information, advice and support co-ordinator for the Stroke Association, spoke to Manx Radio about the sort of guidance they offer: (play audio clip)

Today the CHAT bus will be at Shoprite Living car park in Port Erin between 10am and 12noon, then at Port St Mary Lifeboat Station between 2pm and 4pm.

The roadshows then continue next week.
