Gas price increase not related to conversion project

by isleofman.com 2nd May 2012

The Commercial Director of Manx Gas says the hike in gas prices has nothing to do with the major revamp of gas infrastructure on the Island

The company is putting up all natural gas tariffs by 0.54p per unit, a rise of 8.2%.

LPG is also going to cost more - it's going up by 6.4 per cent.

The increases will come into effect from 10th May.

Manx Gas Commercial Director John Davies says the company's imposed the increases 'very reluctantly'.

He says this is due to global increases in the wholesale price of gas and not to recoup some of the cost of the natural gas conversion project
