Queen's Pier stable, but no further work imminent

by isleofman.com 1st May 2012

The Queen's Pier in Ramsey is now said to be in a "good structural condition"

?1.8 million of stabilisation work was finished last year and the pier now presents a much lower risk to the public and shipping that it has done in recent years.

This was confirmed by Infrastructure Minister David Cretney in the House of Keys this morning.

He said structural engineers now believe the pier will remain in a stable condition for at least five years with no further significant expenditure, assuming there are no extreme weather events.

However he admitted it could be some time before any further restoration work could take place . . .
