The parents of Onchan student Jamie Haslett who was knocked over and killed by a police patrol car in Sheffield, have spoken about the case brought against the officer at the wheel, PC Rodney Mills.
PC Mills was cleared by a jury at Bradford Crown Court last week, of causing death by careless driving.
Angela and Peter Haslett had prepared victim impact statements, which could only be read in court after a guilty verdict.
The couple have now shared their thoughts on the case, and their memories of 19 year old Jamie, with reporters.
PC Mills was responding to an emergency in October 2010 when he hit Jamie, driving at almost twice the speed limit without sirens or blue lights on.
