Committee to review pre-school policy

A Tynwald committee is to review the Department of Education and Children's policy on pre-schools following a referral from ten Tynwald members.

In a letter to East Douglas MHK Brenda Cannell, who chairs the Social Affairs Policy Review Committee, the members asked for it to consider if the department’s new policy is value for money and meets educational needs.

The committee is inviting the public to make submissions.

You have until 5pm on Thursday, May 31 to do so.

In addition it'll take evidence from Education and Children Minister Peter Karran, department Chief Executive Stuart Dobson and Director of Education Martin Barrow at a pre-arranged hearing.


That takes place at 10.30am Wednesday in the Legislative Council Chamber, Legislative Buildings on Bucks Road in Douglas, and is open to the public. 


Mrs Cannell says the session will cover a range of topics, not just pre-school education:
