Langness victory deserved, says campaigner

The man who led the charge over public rights of way on Langness says this week’s court decision is a victory for all those who love the peninsula.

On Thursday, a court made a final ruling against TV presenter Jeremy Clarkson, saying seven miles of paths are public rights of way that can’t be closed.

It marked the end of a long battle by Ian Costain after years of legal wrangles and a public inquiry into the issue.

Mr Costain says the fight was about more than just the path closed by Mr Clarkson outside his home:
