Legal advice required before German result known

Legal advice will be required before it is fully known which five candidates go forward to represent German.

Returning Officer Christine Faid declared the result before it was discovered 100 votes had been missed off the final tally of Kenneth Watterson.

The extra votes elevated him from missing out in sixth place to third in the poll.

It also meant Susan Boot dropped from fifth to sixth.

But the questions now are can the original declaration stand and is it possible for the result be amended.

John Kennaugh finished with the most backing from the public and felt something was drastically wrong when the announcement was made:
