Deadline extended for submissions to Tynwald committee on advocates

by isleofman.com 23rd April 2012

If you feel your time has been deliberately wasted by local advocates, you have a little longer to air your views.

A Tynwald committee will soon start assessing whether there are unnecessary delays and deficiencies in civil legal proceedings.

Members of the public, with something to contribute, are asked to submit their evidence to the committee clerk at government offices by May the 16th – an extension of the original timescale.

Chaired by North Douglas MHK John Houghton, the three member committee is pointing out cases will not be re-opened and submissions could be made public unless anonymity is requested.
