Manx plans for air force base greenlit

by isleofman.com 19th April 2012

A Manx firm’s been given the go-ahead to transform a former RAF base in North Wales.

The Northern Gateway development at RAF Sealand in Flintshire was given the green light by councillors earlier this week.

Praxis Holdings, based in Cooil Road in Braddan, will create 5,000 jobs as it builds 1,000 home, tying in with the Welsh Government’s Deeside Enterprise Zone.

The 400-acre site will eventually house 2.5 million square feet of office, warehouse, leisure and work space.

The first businesses should be up and running by autumn next year – although the whole project could take 15 years to complete.
