She's due her statutory biennial overhaul.
The fast craft Manannan will cover all passenger and car services to Heysham and Liverpool, as well as Irish passenger services during the Ben's dry dock period.
Coaches will be provided for foot passengers in Heysham to take them to Lancaster station.
A large capacity freighter has been chartered from Northlink Ferries which will carry out a daily return service from Heysham.
The Ben is due to come out of dry dock on Saturday, May 5 and will then carry out post-dock sea trials.
She will re-enter service with a first scheduled sailing on Sunday May 6.
