Mothercare future uncertain

There's no news yet as to the fate of Mothercare on the Island.

It's been confirmed today that the store is to close 111 shops over the next three years, in addition to the closures announced last year.

The Island store is in the Strand Shopping Centre and centre Manager John Shakespeare says so far he's heard nothing regarding any closure.

He says the fact it is already known that the Early Learning Centre at the Strand will be closing next month, may be a positive sign for the other store:
