Laxey Back on Top

by isleofman.com 12th April 2012

Laxey have climbed back to the top of the Canada Life Premier League.

Goals from Ashley Webster, Chris Brown and David Corlett saw them safely through to a 3-0 win over relegated Ayre under the floodlights at Mullen-e-Cloie.

Steven Priestnal has moved a goal clear of Ciaran McNulty in the race for the golden boot for top scorer after helping himself to a hat-trick in a 6-1 win for St. Mary's at Gymns.

And Old Boys go fourth following a 3-0 win away at Castletown - on target were Callum Stewart twice and Sean Gavin.

Top Three in Premier League:-
1. Laxey - played 21 for 54 points
2. St. George's - played 18 for 52 points
3. St. Mary's - played 21 for 52 points

One other result from Wednesday evening - in Combination One St. Mary's won 2-0 at St. George's.

St. George's will go back to the Premier League summit if they win Thursday evening's match at Glencrutchery Road against Rushen.

And in Division Two, second placed Union Mills travel to Onchan who are third in a fixture which will have a big bearing on promotion issues.
