Man rescued after coasteering accident

by isleofman.com 11th April 2012

One of a party of coasteerers on a trip organised by the Venture Centre had to be rescued near Maughold yesterday afternoon.

Ramsey lifeboat was launched shortly before 3pm, after a man injured his leg on rocks near Port Moar.

Paramedics and a coastguard team also attended.

After consulting the coasteering party, the man was rescued by boat and taken to hospital.

The man's condition today hasn't been confirmed but it's understood he wasn't seriously injured.

Coastguard Sector Manager Mac Macdonald says whilst the coasteering was professionally organised such accidents can happen
