Police are appealing for witnesses after an assault in which a man was kicked and punched to the ground.
It happened in the early hours of Sunday 1st April when the man in his mid twenties was walking home on the sea side of Loch Promenade in Douglas, somewhere between Quids Inn and Jaks Public bar.
In what's described as a completely unprovoked attack, the man was assaulted from behind by what he believes to be three or four men who punched and kicked him to the floor.
The attack continued after the man was on the ground, causing injuries to his head and side which required hospital treatment, although he wasn't detained.
The suspects are all believed to have been wearing light blue denim jeans but the victim was unable to describe them any further or say in which direction they ran off.
Police would like to hear from anyone who may have seen the attack take place or have any information which may help identify those involved.
