Easter Festival of Plays Supported by Celton Manx

Celton Manx is pleased to be supporting the Manx Amateur Dramatics Federation, Easter Festival of Plays. 2012 marks the 61st anniversary of the festival and promises to be a week filled with acting talent and memorable productions.

 

The festival will run until Friday 13th and remaining shows include:

  • Tuesday 10th April, April in Paris by John Godber performed by The Legion Players
  • Wednesday 11th April, Kafka’s Dick by Alan Bennett performed by Wakefield Little Theatre
  • Thursday 12th April, The Cripple of Inishmaan by Martin McDonagh performed by Martello Productions
  • Friday 13th April, The 39 Steps by John Buchan performed by Romily Little Theatre.

All of the plays are full length productions and the adjudicator for 2012 will be Jan Palmer-Sayer of the Guild of Drama Adjudicators.

 

After the last performance on Friday evening, awards will be presented by His Excellency The Lieutenant Governor, Mr Adam Wood.

 

Chairman of the Manx Amateur Dramatics Federations, Michael Lees, said: ‘We were delighted to again be able to welcome Celton Manx as one of the main sponsors for this year’s festival. The productions are always very well attended and received and the support of organisations such as Celton Manx allows us to continue to put on a high quality event that is well subscribed to by a number of production companies both local and from the UK.’

 

Celton Manx Executive Director, Bill Mummery said: ‘It is wonderful once again to be able to support this most anticipated event in the local amateur dramatics calendar. I know that anybody who appreciates well-acted local theatre productions will enjoy what is on offer this year. I wish all of the entrants the best of luck!’
