Council campaign against chewing gum

Douglas Council is to spend ?3,000 in a campaign against chewing gum.

The media blitz and poster campaign will take place in May and June and hopes to discourage people from spitting out gum in the street.

Council leader David Christian says it’s a problem which has dogged the borough for some years.

And he says it will now be tackled head-on.
