Girls rescued by Peel lifeboat

by isleofman.com 6th April 2012

Two 14 year-old girls who became trapped on rocks north of Peel yesterday evening (Thursday) are thanking the town’s lifeboat crew for rescuing them.

The girls had clambered down the cliffs whilst walking but were unable to climb back to the top and raised the alarm.

Peel RNLI crew launched a small dinghy to recover the two from the cliff face and return them safely.

The girls said they were highly embarrassed by all the fuss they had caused.

Second coxswain John Hunter says the incident should act as a reminder to others of the danger of climbing down cliffs without any thought of the way back.
