Commitment to bus station development

by isleofman.com 5th April 2012

There’s a firm commitment to plans for a hotel, apartment and restaurant complex on the Lord Street bus station site.

That vow from the Infrastructure Minister after an agreement was exchanged between his department and developers Askett Hawk.

It’s four years since the company was named as the preferred developer for the multi-million pounds scheme and was granted a controversial 999-year lease.

David Cretney is confident a 120 bedroom four-star hotel, apartments and restaurants will be built, as well as retail units on Lord Street with 150 parking spaces.

Although he admits, it could still be some time before the complex is complete.
