It’s a special day for an Island resident.
Jim Noakes will be at York Minster this morning (Thursday) to receive Maundy money from the Queen.
The former chief of the Financial Supervision Commission is being recognised for services to the Island and will be joined at the ceremony by his wife Judy and son Chris.
He’s been the leader of a community church in Governors Hill for 15 years, is a reader in the Church of England, and also heavily involved in work for the Scripture Union Ministry and St John's Mill.
Last April, 40 Manx residents received Maundy money in a service in Westminster Abbey on the Queen's 85th birthday.
Mr Noakes says it will be particularly special to follow that in Her Majesty's Diamond Jubilee year.
