Pre-school opposition grows

The decision of two members of the Department of Education shows political opposition is growing to the planned privatisation of pre-schools.

That’s the belief of the woman who has led the protest against proposals to transfer state-run pre-schools into private ownership from September.

In the House of Keys yesterday (Tuesday), members voted 12-11 against MHK Brenda Cannell’s call for an emergency debate on the future of education policy.

However, Amy Burns, says it’s telling how politicians voted.
