A substantial drug haul should act as a warning to dealers.

That warning from a senior police officer after the single biggest drugs seizure ever recorded in the Island.

Liverpool woman Carole Leslie Hickman, who's 51 and from Walton, was arrested as she got off the boat in her car.

She’s accused of trying to smuggle 100 nine-ounce bars of cannabis resin into the Isle of Man – a haul estimated to be worth just under ?140,000.

Miss Hickman is charged with importation and possession of cannabis with intent to supply and has been remanded in custody until April the 10th.
