MHKs vote not to discuss education policy

by isleofman.com 3rd April 2012

Members of the House of Keys narrowly rejected a chance to talk about the future of pre-schools today. [tues]

East Douglas MHK Brenda Cannell wanted to put forward a motion which, if approved, would have meant any changes to education policy would need Tynwald approval.

The request to bring forward the motion as a matter of urgent public business failed by 12 votes to 11.

Mother of four Amy Burns is leading a campaign against the proposals.

She says the fight will carry on.
