Clearing up the countryside

A scheme to protect an important national asset.

That’s how government is describing an initiative to clear up the countryside.

The Department of Environment is asking farmers to clear their land of plastic waste, helped by the government’s Waste Management Unit.

Sites will be opened next month to allow plastics such as silage wrap and containers to be delivered.

Ray Craine is the president of the Manx National Farmers Union.
