A Liverpool woman is in prison after the single biggest drugs seizure ever recorded in the Island.

Carole Leslie Hickman, who's 51 and from Walton, was arrested as she got off the boat in her car.

She’s accused of trying to smuggle 100 nine-ounce bars of cannabis resin into the Isle of Man.

It's estimated the haul is worth just under ?140,000.

She’s charged with importation and possession of cannabis with intent to supply and has been remanded in custody until April 10.

Acting DI Steve Maddocks is praising the perseverance and professionalism of his team and partners in targeting people who look to import controlled drugs.
