That’s the message from a Douglas councillor after she was contacted by ratepayers concerned their public sector housing rents are set to soar.
A report, commissioned by the Department of Social Care, revealed a 16 per cent increase would eliminate the ?7 million deficit on public sector housing within five years.

Carol Malarkey is one of four candidates contesting three seats in Hills Ward in this month’s Local Authority elections.
She is standing against David Christian, Eddie Joyce and Kevin Oliphant-Smith.
