Treasure Island

A Manx metal detectorist says he was delighted to unearth a Viking arm ring that’s more than 1,000 years old.

Coroner John Needham declared the find to be a treasure trove meaning it belongs to the crown.

Robert Middleton found the artefact in Patrick while pursuing his hobby.

After the hearing yesterday (Monday), he says he’s glad he can add something to the Island’s history.
