Return of Ph@! A Night of 'Proper' Dance Music

by isleofman.com 2nd April 2012

Ph@! (“Fat”) – is back with a night of 'proper dance music' to be held at The Courthouse Club, Athol Street, Douglas, on Easter Sunday (08/04/12) from 8pm till 1am.

The event marks the return and re-launch of PH@! after a break of almost eight years.

PH@! was originally aimed at 15 to 18 year olds and opened its doors for the first time in July 2001 at Port St Mary Town Hall.

The events were held regularly over the following years attracting young people from all over the Island and filling the 200 capacity venue on almost every occasion.

PH@! eventually relocated to The Venue night club in Douglas, with the last event being held there in April 2004 when UK hard dance DJ BK headlined.

Original Ph@! DJ’s – Lee Wright and Alex Blackford - are returning for the re-launch and although they will be slightly moving away from their “hard dance” roots the pair will be playing an energetic mix of 'progressive', 'electro' and 'tech' house and trance to recreate the magic of the original nights.

Lee, who alongside Alex has been running Ph@! since its inception, said: “PH@! is now aimed at the over 18's and will be both a reunion for those who used to attend the nights, and a new experience for those who were too young, or maybe even too old the first time around!”

The re-launch event will take place on Sunday, April 8th, at The Courthouse. Doors open at 8pm – there is no entry after 10pm. Entry fee will be £4 on the door. Over 18’s only – ID will be required and a Challenge 21 policy will be in operation.
