Manx Telecom launches Intelligent Cloud

Manx Telecom has unveiled its new IT hosting and management product, Intelligent Cloud.

More than 80 guests from Island companies and public sector organisations were told it could help them reduce overheads and running costs, at a breakfast launch at the Claremont Hotel in Douglas.

Manx Telecom says Intelligent Cloud offers small and medium-sized firms the opportunity to have their IT needs 'hosted' securely off-site, with no further need to manage networks and servers in-house or further capital outlay on hardware.

Cloud computing can also provide additional capacity for firms wishing to maintain their own IT systems in the long term.

Intelligent Cloud has been developed by MT in partnership with hosting technology firm VMWare, and interested organisations were offered a free one month trial.

Manx Telecom Enterprise Hosting and Solutions Manager Stephen Trimble admits handing-over IT management to a cloud contractor will be a big step for many firms:
