Countdown to IOM Sports Awards almost over

Final preparations for the Isle of Man Bank Sports Awards are being made in the run-up to tonight's ceremony.

The biggest night of the Manx sporting calender is being held in its now traditional venue of the Villa Marina Royal Hall.

Isle of Man Sport Chairman Geoff Karran told Tim Glover as usual there have been some last-minute changes to the running order: (play interview)

Nine awards will be presented tonight; sportsman, sportswoman, ambassador, under-21 sportsman, under-21 sportswoman, disability sportsperson, administrator, coach, and team of the year.

The recipients of Sport Aid and a number of scholarships for the coming year will also be announced.

We'll have news of, and reaction from, the winners on Mandate and Manx Radio news tomorrow morning.
