Appleby is pleased to announce its inhouse regulatory advice team. Led by Partner, Claire Milne, the team provides advice to local and international businesses on the management of the legal, commercial and reputational risks often associated with regulatory and legislative issues.
Commenting on the development Claire Milne, Partner at Appleby said “Appleby has always offered regulatory advice and we now have a larger number of lawyers across our practice with the expertise to advise in this area, it made sense to bring them together to form a dedicated team”, Claire continued, “Recent developments internationally and domestically have brought about significant changes, especially within the egaming and financial service sectors. As these sectors are key industries for the Isle of Man we are well placed to help local businesses ensure they can keep a pace with regulatory changes as and when they occur.”
Appleby’s regulatory advice team will offer professional services with respect to the implementation of and the adherence to regulatory frameworks including anti-money laudering, financial market and egaming regulations, data protection and anti-bribery laws.
Sean Dowling, Managing Partner of Appleby Isle of Man commented: “This is exciting progress for Appleby and a chance to add real value to our commercial clients. The Isle of Man has developed a reputation as a premier financial jurisdiction in terms of regulation, and it is important that we maintain these standards to remain competitive on the international stage.”
