Alex Eat-s up competition

Manx Harrier Alex Eaton was the winner of Sunday's 10 kilometre Racewalking Championships at the National Sports Centre.

He finished in a time of 50 minutes 32 seconds, 37 seconds ahead of clubmate Adam Cowin.

Peter Kaneen was close behind in third.

Michelle Turner of Northern AC won the women’s title in a personal best time of 54m 59s with visiting Leeds based under 20 Manx Harrier Lauren Whelan second in 55m 46 and Sally Walker of the host club third in 60m 11s.

Juan Bellando won the five kilometre event in 28m 37s ahead of Alexandra Ross and Rebecca Greatbatch.

The two km winner was Jason Turner of Northern AC with Stephen Waddington winning the one km race ahead of Jessica Wild.
