Questions on process used to appoint contractors

Santon and Malew MHK Graham Cregeen says he’s interested in how often government projects haven’t been put out to tender.

In the House of Keys next week, he’ll quiz Treasury Minister Eddie Teare about the number of times departments have been allowed to appoint contractors through a special process.

They’re known as FD-8 waivers, and can be applied for retrospectively by departments in special cases.

Mr Cregeen explains just what an FD-8 waiver is.
