Great turnout for Bonnag Championships

There was a great turnout for the World Bonnag Championships in Dalby last night and a new overall champion

Over 60 entries were accepted in the three classes.

Peel's Johnny Teare retained his mens' title, but Dot Watterson from St Johns was a new winner in the ladies class.

Amy Keig from Andreas won the childrens competition and went on to win the overall title of best bonnag in the show.

Her plain bonnag was described as "outstanding" by judge Bert Winkle.

The evening raised money for Hospice Isle of Man, the Manx Overseas Charity the Pahar Trust Nepal and the St James' church restoration fund.
