The director of Manx National Heritage says lessons can be learnt from the United Kingdom when it comes to poor planning decisions.
Edmund Southworth is urging people to submit their views to the public consultation on planning and the economy, which ends in just under a fortnight's time.
He believes poorly thought out policies in the UK during the 1960s and 70s ruined many towns and cities.
Mr Southworth says the draft planning statement raises fundamental questions about the future of the Island landscape.
