The President of Tynwald, the Hon Clare Christian MLC, is to attend a ceremony at Westminster Hall on Tuesday March 20 when both Houses of Parliament will present addresses to the Queen to mark Her Majesty’s Diamond Jubilee.

The addresses will be presented by the Lord Speaker, House of Lords, the Rt Hon The Baroness D’Souza and the Speaker of the House of Commons the Rt Hon John Bercow MP.

The occasion will also see the unveiling of the Diamond Jubilee stained glass window depicting the Royal Coat of Arms, a gift to Her Majesty from parliamentarians of both houses that is to be installed in the north window of Westminster Hall. Her Majesty will then reply to the addresses.

Madam President said: ‘It will be an honour to represent Tynwald at the Diamond Jubilee celebrations at the Palace of Westminster and to join with fellow parliamentarians in demonstrating the profound respect held for Her Majesty who has given 60 years of selfless duty and service.’
