Pay dispute goes to mediation

An ongoing dispute over public sector pay is on the way to being resolved.

That admission from a Whitley Council official.

Negotiations had been put on hold between the employers and employees side of the Council.

However, while Employees side secretary Eric Holmes admits they’re about to resume, he’s still pointing the finger at the chairman of the employers side, MHK Alf Cannan.

A fortnight ago, Mr Cannan called for a sensible debate in a professional manner but re-stressed there’s no money available for pay rises.
