Call to retain library

by isleofman.com 17th March 2012

A member of the Legislative Council says the government risks isolating older people in their homes because of a mix of social and education policies.

David Callister says as the Department of Social Care is suggesting more elderly people will be cared for at home, it’s wrong to shut down the mobile library service.

Next week in Tynwald, he’ll quiz Chief Minister Allan Bell about the proposed closure.

Mr Callister says the visit from the Department of Education’s mobile library is very important to some older people.
