A UK solicitor hopes to be invited back to the Island to speak at the bar of Tynwald about care home closures.
Yvonne Hossack returned to the UK last night after a 48-hour visit during which she met politicians, along with residents and staff from Glenside residential home in Douglas.
It’s due to shut in two years time as part of plans to offer more care for elderly people in their own homes.
She says there’s clear evidence closing care facilities increase residents’ mortality rates and lead to wider cost implications.
