Gold Rush Boosts Funds for Children’s Charity

by isleofman.com 15th March 2012

A new ‘daily deal’ website is making a donation from every transaction to the Island’s leading charity for families and children, The Children’s Centre. thegoldendeal.co.uk website offers Isle of Man customers special deals and discounts on a range of products and services from local businesses, and recently presented a cheque for £209.20 to the charity.

These funds were raised in just three months since thegoldendeal.co.uk website was launched at the end of November last year.

Steven Carridge, of thegoldendeal.co.uk, said:

“We at the Golden Deal strongly believe that, particularly in the current economic climate, it is important to give something back to the local community, and The Children’s Centre was an obvious choice for us to support. We would like to take this opportunity to thank all of the businesses that have run deals with us - this donation would not have been possible without their support. As a team we look forward to working with them all again, bringing great deals to local consumers, and continuing to support local charities.”

Steven said that thegoldendeal.co.uk would continue to support The Children’s Centre over the next few months with a donation from every deal going to the charity. In the summer the website will choose another Isle of Man charity to support in the same way.

Mark Eastham, Adventure Events Fundraising Co-ordinator at The Children’s Centre, said:

“The Golden Deal’s generosity - and that of the website’s customers - is greatly appreciated by The Children’s Centre and we thank them all for helping to support our charitably funded projects for families and children across the Island.”
