Leading fiduciary and fund services specialists, Abacus, are pleased to announce that they have been granted a full trust licence by the Malta Financial Services Authority (MFSA).
Abacus Corporate Services Limited, the group’s Maltese corporate arm, was granted the license by the MFSA, which authorises them to now provide trustee and other fiduciary services under the Trusts and Trustees Act 2004.
Chief Executive Officer of Abacus Malta, Garry Crossan said, “We are focused on providing the group with another platform to develop its business across global markets, so the Malta office is an integral part of the group’s growth strategy. Having received our trust license, we can now offer a full range of fiduciary services alongside our existing suite of corporate and fund administration services, complementing the service offering currently available from our head office in the Isle of Man.
Malta is a fast growing jurisdiction that offers a wide number of benefits. Not only is it ideally located as a European domicile, it has low cost set-up for new company and fund vehicles and is supported by a proactive regulator. It is also a leading jurisdiction in areas such as Shipping and Aviation and is proving to be a viable alternative to a number of other International Finance Centres. These together with its extensive double tax-treaty network, underlie its position as a stable jurisdiction from which to conduct international business.”
As part of its celebrations, Abacus will host an official launch reception to inaugurate the opening of their new offices. The reception is to be held at their offices in the newly built financial district in Mriehel at the end of March.
The Abacus group of companies are leading fiduciary and fund services specialists embracing more than 30 years experience and offering a wide range of financial solutions and fiduciary services to a global client base.
